Construction workers could be in demand

Looking for a job? You’re not alone. Millions of Americans are looking for work and our new President hopes to create a lot of jobs over the next two years. According to Obama’s plan, the number one goal of his economic stimulus plan is job creation. He wants to create three million new ones during the first half of his term as President. How is he going to do that? According to Forbes, the jobs will come in several categories.

Construction

Obama wants to focus on rebuilding roads, bridges and schools. That will mean sub-contracting construction crews, project managers, engineers and other key workers.

Health Care Modernization

Another undertaking will be modernizing medical records. Currently mistakes are made with patient records when details of medical history aren’t clearly communicated between different doctors treating the same patient. Under this push, many people will be needed to serve as technology specialists and software developers. The positions will likely be funded through millions of dollars in grants.

Finance

The credit crunch revealed risky moves being made for years by big companies. Obama is requesting more be done to oversee the markets which will require accountants, auditors and regulators.

Energy

Obama is looking to reduce our energy dependence on foreign oil and increase renewable-energy production. He also wants to renovate public buildings so they are more energy efficient. That could increase demand for electrical engineers, bio-fuels chemists and power grid managers.
